Lipcote

*received in a makeup swap*

I received this in my makeup swap with Claire and pulled it out to use this weekend. It's a lipstick sealer and is toted to prolong the wear of a lipstick. I love wearing lipsticks but hate having to wipe off my lipstick before eating, drinking so this sounded pretty good to me! Decided to try this out this weekend as I was going to be swimming and wasn't wearing any makeup (apart from some cream blush - NYX Tea Rose and lipstick).
To test it out I wore a hot pink (and a MAC Candy Yum Yum dupe IMO!), Barry M #52, which I received from my friend Mags in our swap last year. I applied my lipstick, blotted and applied a coat of Lipcote. It's like applying a clear gloss on your lips! It sank in quite quick and I drank from a cup immediately to test it out- and yup, no lippie color was left anywhere! I think where it lost some of its consistency (which is completely understandable) is sitting out in the 90 degree weather, I was sitting in the shade but it was pretty hot out. I was eating chips and salsa and forgot and wiped my lips and it did smear off, but again I think the sweltering heat had to do with that. I just applied some lipstick on my hand and applied a coat and tried wiping and it smeared very little! I'd read that it had an awful smell and made the lips tingle - didn't notice that at all. All I felt was a cool sensation after applying it! I can't wait to use this with a red lipstick! Below are swatches of lipstick alone (left side) and with one coat (right side). Also added a swatch of the cream blush- which is perfect for summer- its a natural nude but shows up beautifully and lasted while I swam (for almost 3 hours!)
Has anyone tried Lipcote before?

Sinful colors of the week!

It's safe to say that Sinful colors nail polishes are my favorite. They are easily available (now available at Target and Walmart:) I have enough polished to last me a lifetime but I couldn't help picking up these 2 beauties: Starfish (soft pink) and Beverly Hills (pastel lavender). They look almost alike in the bottle but you can see the difference once applied! Starfish applied so easy and I lovelovelove this color! Beverly Hills was kinda thick and messy- I'm not into cleaning up much , the messy parts usually slide off while I'm in the shower:) Sinful colors seems to have new collections and I try and restrain myself from buying them all!

Ipsy June 2013

*subscription purchased by me*
This months Ipsy might be my favorite because of the cute leopard and neon bag!! I haven't really liked any of the past bags as much as I love this one! I'm crazy about leopard and neon- and make up bags ;)
Also included in this months Ipsy:
NYX cream blush in Tickled - I love NYX blushes - def think they give MAC a run for their money :)) it's a gorgeous peach with a golden glow!
Psssst dry shampoo - can never have enough of these- especially during summer!
Cailyn gel eyeliner in Purple- have not heard of this brand but am excited to try new brands, and a purple gel liner.
JCat cream sparkle palette- not to excited about this since 1. I would not put this much glitter near my eyes 2. The reviews I've seen/read in this ate not to great. It's streaky and messy. Looks nice in the package but not for me:/
Starlooks Tickle Me lip pencil- another new brand. I've worn this several times already, alone and with a gloss. So creamy and applies like a lip stick. Excuse my dry lips in the picture, but the color is gorgeous!

NOTD

*purchased by me*
This reminds me of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy (which I don't own but have drooled over for many months) its a neon/Creme coral pink- its called Flamingo Flair and I can see where they got the name. It's pretty thick and requires some work to apply. I have 3 coats and it may need to be thinned a bit. I rarely match my nails and toes but with this color, I couldn't resist!
It makes me look tan(ner) and has gotten me several compliments! Me and coworker again had matching nails. I'm so glad I've found some people at work who love talking makeup and nails as much as I do!

To break up the matchy match of it all I added China Glaze in I'm Not Lion a gold and silver beauty! This to me screams Summertime!!

NOTW and Sephora/Target Haul

*all items were purchased by me/giftcards*
Yup- that's right, NOTW:) I've worn Sinful Colors Sail La Vie for a full week. It did chip, so I applied a fresh coat during the week, but so worth it as I love this cornflower blue polish! I've gotten several compliments- a co-worker even bought it after seeing it on me:)

I still had a Sephora gift card from Christmas and am glad I saved it as I was able to get the Sun kit they release every year. This Kit looked great- 14 deluxe samples: Too Faced chocolate Bronzer, and several different facial moisturizers, including LancĂ´me, Clarins, Tarte and more! I've yet to open (much restraint!) because I am trying to use the several (almost empty!) ones I have open. The bag would make such a pretty makeup bag- its hot pink and gold, but is clear- which I love, makes it easier to find everything! Will review it and all it's contents soon! Also bought some DERMAdoctor Wrinkle Revenge Face wash, that was recommend to me by the rep that was working at Sephora that day. His skin was flawless and glowing! I've only used it for a week or so, but love it so far. Spotted Soap & Glory Hand food lotion and was excited as it's a blogger favorite. Feels great, as I have super dry hands lately.
Also picked up the MAC blush Ripe for Love, which was part of their Temperature Rising Collection. I usually don't pick up anything because, I cannot get myself to spend the money on MAC, especially since drugstore makeup is what it is now- great! But I really liked , it's described as a, Mid-tone peach. Haven't used it yet, but am looking forward to using it for summer. I also love the bronze rubber packaging:) grabbed my fave Brow Set in Show off as my current one is completely dried up. My eyebrows aren't as full as I'd like them, this actually helps them appear semi full and is always in my makeup bag.
Lastly I saw this cute Eco Tools kabuki brush (which I think is new). It's travel friendly and sleek and fits perfectly for on the go. I've use it to set my powder and love it! It's so soft!
